Learn discrete-time convolution from definition to computation with two powerful methods!
In this lesson we:
Define DT convolution: y[n] = sum of x[k]h[n-k], with output length M+N-1
Method 1 (Shift-and-Add): scale and shift h[n] by each input sample, then sum all copies
Method 2 (Flip-and-Slide): flip h, slide across x, compute dot product at each position
Work through a complete example: x[n]={-1,0,1,2} * h[n]={1,1,-1,1} = y[n]={-1,-1,2,2,1,-1,2}
Compare both methods and identify when each is most useful
