The Battle of Falkenmoor, 1813
In 1813, as Napoleon struggled to hold Central Europe, a battered French corps faced a combined Russian and Prussian army near the marshes of Falkenmoor. At dawn, French guns roared through the mist, infantry advanced in heavy columns, and disciplined Prussian volleys met them head-on. Russian grenadiers surged forward, while cavalry smashed together in a brutal clash of steel and smoke.
By afternoon, both sides were exhausted. The French withdrew in good order, the allies held the field—and the battle faded into history as one that never happened… until now.
