The Astro's 1985 - 1988 were..
Jimi Hocking : Guitar, Vocals.
Peter 'Pog' German : Bass.
Greg Pedley : Drums.
The Astros performances were commonly full of independent music fans and the band were held in high esteem by local musicians, but considered too 'Avant-Garde' to be commercially viable by the music industry in the mid 1980's.
This footage is from the the Najee Rock Awards 7_2_1987.
The audience were 'music critics' etc who didn't rate the band at all, (we were told by one of the judges backstage that Hard Rock was 'dead') and although there was a lot of great talent at this contest for (independent only) artists the 'judges' favored an innocuous pop 60s revival group, who miraculously had a major record release within days of this so called 'independent only' contest. c'est la vie ;-)
