Soo... I just came back from Tokyo and Osaka Japan this past Nov 2019 to visit the homeland of Transformers! This is where masterpiece figures are made by Takara Tomy! There's so many places you an go and find transformers but they're not all priced as well as you would think. Many stores do inflate the prices but if you know where to go, you'll save a ton of money! In this video I will share all the best stores to get the best deals on Transformers! Feel free to share any tips if you have any in the comments below.
I went to a TON of smaller toy stores and street vendors but My 3 favorite stores for the best prices in Osaka Japan are:
1) Mandarake Umeda - 9-28 Doyamacho, Kita Ward, Osaka, 530-0027, Japan
2) Mandarake Grand Chaos Shop - 2 Chome-9-22 Nishishinsaibashi, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-0086, Japan
3) Surugaya Nipponbashi Otaroad - 556-005 Osaka, Naniwa, Ward, Nipponbashi, 3 Chome-8-18 2 - 3rd floor
Tips:
Mandarake Umeda is a huge store but at the top, they have a HUGE Transformers collection. I found the first Mp44 there for 300,000 Yen or obo $300 USD and I jumped on it right away. Back home in Canada they retail for 549.99! It was opened so I had a chance to preview it before purchasing. Do to quality issues, it's not bad to buy second hand masterpiece figures so you can check over the paint application.
Surugaya looks like a comic and anime store from the outside but on the top level they sell action figures. I wasn't even going to go in but I had a good feeling. I was so happy i went there! I got Movie Masterpiece Megatron for obo $130 us dollars, I saw a brand new mp44 for $330 USD. My friend was following right behind me and he snatched it up.
Second hand figures or used figures are typically in very good condition when they are traded in. Most of them are complete with boxes and instructions, dating back to the 1980's!
Osaka is the second biggest city in Japan. Tokyo being the biggest. Tokyo has more stores but overall, I think osaka had slightly lower prices for transformers. There's one amazing store I found in Tokyo, I'll be posting that one in my next video!
Thanks for watching, stay tuned in for my next video! We're getting close to 3000 subscribers and another action figure or/ GC giveaway!
