Do you know about the city of Mainz?
#Mainz is well-known for being the birthplace of Johannes Gutenberg, the developer of the movable-type printing machine, who produced his first publications in the city in the early 1450s, including the #Gutenberg Bible. During World War II, #Mainz was severely devastated, with more than 30 air attacks destroying the majority of the city's historic structures. The Romans built #Mainz as a defensive fortification on the empire's northernmost boundary and the provincial seat of Germania Superior in the first century BC. In the eighth century AD, as part of the Holy Roman Empire, Mainz grew in importance as the capital of the Electorate of #Mainz and the seat of the Archbishop-Elector of Mainz, the Primate of #Germany.
