Nearly 60,000 people have been evacuated after a series of explosions took place at the Port Neches chemical plant in Texas.
Three employees were injured in the initial explosion which occurred at 1am on Wednesday. A second larger explosion took place on later that afternoon, followed by a number of smaller explosions throughout the day.
Residents in the surrounding areas said their windows and doors were blown out because of the impact.
