Fall & winter pond note:
If you see the fish spending a lot of time sitting at the bottom of the pond, that’s completely normal this time of year. As the water gets colder, their metabolism slows way down. They conserve energy by staying where the water temperature is most stable — usually near the bottom.
They’re not dead, sick, or unhappy — they’re just resting and doing exactly what pond fish are supposed to do in cooler months. When things warm up again, you’ll see them become more active.
