In today’s video I’m taking you inside a place that’s been a total game-changer for our family: the Sofitel Phnom Penh Premier Club / Sports Club. If you’ve ever wondered what families do for fun in the city (especially when there aren’t many parks or big backyards like Australia), this is a great example of how expats create a lifestyle that works.

We signed up because it’s hard to keep kids active and off devices when it’s hot and you’re living apartment-style — and Cambodia is about to hit that 40°C+ heat. This membership gives us access to tennis courts, squash courts, steam/sauna, a full gym, table tennis, pool tables, lockers and showers, and most importantly… a huge swimming pool that’s open daily from 7am–11pm. Perfect after school to cool down and unwind. I also break down the costs and explain why, for our family, it’s actually solid value compared to paying separately for everything.
