"Master of Hornets" ✈️ Freewing EF-18A

These were some pretty good flights that I had with the Hornet. It was a windy day but I still felt pretty inspired thanks in good measure to the beautiful cloudy background that we were enjoying that evening, so I committed to bringing a cool aerobatic performance despite all and it payed off!

Of course, with such beautiful footage I had to go further and make a proper metalhead edit... and here it is! :D

   • Freewing F-18 with Beautiful Custom Livery...  

This livery was a NTM (Nato Tiger Meet) scheme celebrating 25 years of spanish 'Ala 15' squadron history, although I am told the original plane no longer sports these colors as it was repainted in military grey (sadly), so, in a fashion, my F-18 (or C15 as they are referred to in the Spanish Air Force) is a pretty rare bird as it probably is the last 'flight capable' jet left that still sports these colors.

I fell in love with this scheme years ago as I saw it perform several times at different local airshows, so I guess it made sense for me to paint my Freewing F-18 in this fashion! :)

The jet was stuck for MONTHS in the workshop, undergoing the paint job and decal-work, but I think the end result justified it. The decals were mostly provided by Callie Graphics, it was a custom order I made where I provided as much pictures I could of the jet and she made it into a set of high quality CNC-cut vinyls. The first attempt had a few issues with colors and sizing but she fixed it up and sent a second version. This footage has been heavily stabilized and re-interpolated in post with Davinci Resolve to give the best visual experience, hope you appreciate the effort. It took like 30h of computer rendering time, not counting the edit. Hope you enjoy the video!
