"GD GANGSTER RAP" by BoomKitty, Arclia, xXLOCOXx & more | Geometry Dash 2.2

Описание: This is the new Event level for April 1, and I think it suits the day given its goofy nature. The level's song is a rap by Boom Kitty featuring popular Geometry Dash figures like EricVanWilderman, Colon, and KingSammelot. To be honest, when I heard about the idea, I thought the song would be a bit more cringe. However, I think it ended up pretty fun. Sure, these people aren't rappers, but their performance is better than you may have expected, and many of the lines are quite creative in their references to the game and its culture.

As for the level itself, Boom Kitty ended up choosing Arclia to host a level for this Event, which was a great choice. "GD GANGSTER RAP" reminds me a lot of "Next Cab Soon" stylistically given its art style, but also in setting, since it's mostly cityscapes. This choice, with emphasis on tags and other graffiti, makes a lot of sense for a rap-based song. In length, this is considerably longer while also looking even better in my opinion. It's packed full of well-executed references that fit the song at any given point, making for a great experience while playing. Choosing a favorite part when it's all so good is tough, but I really like the little animation at 1:44 where your cube ends up on the necklace.

The gameplay in this, like the visuals, is also great. I played the original layout, which was already very fun, so I had high hopes for the final result. Admittedly, the playing experience did change a bit with all of these references added, as they do distract you a bit while you play. However, the team did a good job of making some parts more lenient to account for this. As the level is now, I think it is the most fun Event level thus far, and probably also the best looking, so the Mythic rating is very deserved!
