-Venier calipers: to measure the height of engine mounts
-Wooden planks: to protect gel coat/fiberglass deck
-Truck straps: 2 straps at least 1 tonne rating
-Carabeana: 2 rated at least 1 tonne
-Winch: Rated at least 0.5 tonne
-Metal bar: To support the winch
-Pertrating/degreasing spray: like INOX, because things might be seized in place
-Replacement mounts: I used IsoFlex IVF30, which can be found here: https://isoflextech.com/products/engi...
-Patience: because it’s a bit fiddly
-Calm conditions: if done in the water, you don’t want the engine to sway or fall.
Steps
-------------------------------------------------
1) Setup winch, straps, carabeans, wooden planks and metal bar as shown. Important: try and center the winch inbetween the two lifting points both in the forward/backward direction and the left/right direction. Tip: cross the straps in the middle help the winch self-center.
2) Release the locking nuts on each engine mount
3) Raise the engine to take it’s weight off the mounts. The engine should be easily wobbled.
4) Add wood underneath the engine for safety.
5) Remove bolts from bracket and mounts.
6) Remove the mount and bracket from the engine.
7) Assemble the bracket to the replacement mount and add grease to the mount.
8) Grease the threads that accept the bolts for the bracket and mount
9) Install the new mounts and remove the wood from underneath the engine.
10) Release the winch to put the engine's weight onto the mounts.
11) Calibrate the height of the engine by ensuring the engine is at the same height.
12) Add more grease to all the metal components to stop that pesky rust.
13) Repeat steps 3 to 12 for the remaining engine mounts.
14) OPTIONAL: let engine sit for 24 hours.
15) Remeasure heights to double check your work and ensure everything is perfect.
16) Start engine and rev slowly to 2,000 RPM to check for any wobbling, knocking, shaking or strange behaviour/sounds/vibrations.
