Alaska Highway (BC-97), Northern British Columbia — mid-winter travel during a brief weather window.
A brief window where conditions softened enough to move — carefully, and not without limits.
After weeks of waiting, temperatures eased just enough to allow travel in a 1998 Mitsubishi Delica L400. Not freely. Not comfortably. Only within what the season would permit.
This isn’t a trip and it isn’t a destination.
It’s movement shaped by restraint, timing, and attention to what’s realistically possible.
Roads may be open, but conditions decide what can actually be done — especially in mid-winter, and especially when vehicles, equipment, and cold margins demand caution. Camping, driving, and turning back were all only just possible. Anything more would have pushed beyond the margin.
The places shown matter, but mostly as markers of what becomes reachable when you wait and move deliberately.
This episode sits within a longer arc:
winter constraint → waiting → preparation → movement → withdrawal
No narration beyond what’s needed.
No explanation beyond what the landscape already shows.
