PROCO RAT2 vs TC Electronic GRAND MAGUS into a Marshall 1987x

Описание: This is a comparison of a PROCO RAT2 distortion vs a TC Electronic GRAND MAGUS distortion pedal.

While the GRAND MAGUS pedal is based on the ProCo RAT2 circuit, the TONE works like a conventional tone control. In the video, I set the MAGUS TONE control to match the RAT but it is difficult as the RAT2 tone changes as the DISTORTION increases.

The pedals are going into the front of a Marshall 1987x head (channel 1) and a 1936 cab.

I created a loop of music that I use to demonstrate the pedals on rhythm guitar and then lead. The first rhythm guitar part is a faster punk/metal style and then I slow it down to more of a 80s rock/metal rhythm. Finally I demonstrate the pedals on lead guitar.

As usual, I used the bridge pickup on a USA Fender Stratocaster for all the rhythm guitar parts and this time, for the lead as well.

The bass parts were played on a Fender precision bass.
