Can we save the world’s rarest marsupial? This final chapter looks at how the community can help support conservation efforts with the hope that #GilbertsPotoroo can survive for future generations. From rediscovery to endurance against the odds, Gilbert’s Potoroo has walked a thin line between survival & extinction. Conservationists are working hard to secure its future, through habitat protection & translocations, with community support.

Gilbert's Potoroo Action Group (GPAG) was founded in Albany, Western Australia in November 2001 with the objectives of fundraising, awareness raising & volunteering to help conservation efforts by DBCA/Parks and Wildlife Service, Western Australia. Since then GPAG has raised over $1.2m & provided 1000s of hours of volunteer support - but we still need your help!!

The story is not over. With awareness & action, there's still hope for the rarest marsupial on Earth.
