UBOAT is a submarine simulator video game, released by Deep Water Studio and published by PlayWay S.A. The game is inspired by the game mechanics of Fallout Shelter, XCOM, and also the movie Das Boot. Like other submarine simulation games, such as the Silent Hunter series, the player is put in command of a German U-boat during World War II.
In the first episode of this new series, Captain Klaus Heinrich Von Kliess takes command of the U-1172, a type VIIC/41 U-boat, in December of 1944...close to the end of the war for Germany. Now is a difficult time for the German U-boat crews...as the allies close in on German waters and their anti-submarine technologies surpass the U-boat's capabilities to hide. The hunters have now become the hunted in this deadly cat and mouse game.
