The Nike Vaporfly Next% Version 1.
The midsole features ZoomX, Nike’s PEBA-based, plush superfoam.
A full-length, carbon fiber plate is embedded in the ZoomX.
The upper is VAPORWEAVE, which is lightweight, strong and water-proof. In addition, the lacing on each shoe is curiously asymmetrical.
The outsole rubber on the forefoot is waffle shaped, ostensibly to improve traction.
The stackheight is similar to other super shoe's such as the Saucony Endorphin Pro.
To conclude, at the time of its making, the Next% was Nike’s fastest marathon shoe. And I will run next month’s Hong Kong Marathon in the shoe. Based on my previous experience with Nike super shoes, the Next% will be fragile but will deliver superior performance. It is worth the cost.
