Little Amélie is the best animated film of 2025

Little Amélie or the Character of Rain is an animated triumph that delicately traverses through an especially-young protagonist's life. Through the lens of this character, the viewer is brilliantly exposed to the broad topics of life and death, family and isolation, and grudging or healing difficult traumas. The film visualizes its world with an expert understanding of real-world form and structure so as to simplify visual elements keenly, yet all of its background work is still spectacular and each background shot deserves to be shown in a museum. Little Amélie is a unique and memorable addition to the vibrant set of animated films this year and will remain relevant for many years to come.

The visual composite was created in Adobe Premiere Pro. The animated segments and talking heads were created in Adobe Animate. Sound editing and recording were done in Adobe Audition. Background footage shot on Canon EOS M50m2 (   • Ryan Reynolds drives to the world premiere...  ).

This video is to be distinguished as a film review and dissection. I ensured major spoilers were not greatly hinted towards when I compiled video. I only interjected clips of the film if they were in direct relation to my point. This means that many clips may be taken out of context. The main purpose of this video was to encourage viewers to watch the film for themselves and establish their own opinion upon their watch — my video only presents aspects of the film which I personally enjoyed or noticed. None of the featured clips of the films were animated by me.
