Why You Should Start a YouTube Channel After 70.
Hello again, and welcome.
In this video, I want to talk about why starting a YouTube channel after the age of 70 might actually make more sense than starting one earlier in life.
This idea didn’t come from studying analytics.
It didn’t come from watching endless YouTube “how-to” videos.
And it certainly didn’t come from wanting more views.
It came from listening.
Over the years, I’ve spent many hours listening to Tamara’s mother tell stories from her childhood on the northern Adriatic coast of what was then Yugoslavia. Stories about daily life, about people who are long gone, and about ways of living that simply don’t exist anymore.
Nothing dramatic.
Nothing polished.
Just lived experience.
And every time she speaks, I find myself thinking the same thing: this is living history.
The problem is that stories like these often disappear. They’re told at kitchen tables, during walks, or over coffee — and then one day they’re gone. Not because they weren’t important, but because nobody thought to record them.
That’s when it struck me.
YouTube is no longer just a platform for broadcasting. It’s a place for preserving memory.
If you’re over 70, you carry things that don’t exist anywhere else. You remember places as they were, not as they’re described online. You remember sounds, routines, customs, conversations — and most importantly, how life felt.
That kind of knowledge rarely survives in books or photographs.
But it lives perfectly well in stories.
At this stage of life, starting a YouTube channel isn’t about building an audience. It’s about leaving a trace. It’s about saying: I was here. This is what I saw. This is how it felt to live through it.
And once it’s recorded, it doesn’t vanish.
If you’re over 70 and you’ve ever thought, I’ve lived a full life, I’ve seen things that don’t exist anymore, I’ve got stories but nowhere to put them — this video is for you.
You don’t need to teach.
You don’t need to explain history.
You just need to talk.
One simple story at a time is enough.
If you’d like to subscribe, I’d really appreciate that.
If you’d like to leave a comment, that means even more — I read and reply to every single one.
And if you scan or click the QR code on screen, you’ll find behind-the-scenes audio, video, and stories I don’t share anywhere else.
Until next time, stay safe wherever you are.
Vidimo se opet — I’ll see you again soon.
