If you want to spend a weekend by the sea in a quiet and peaceful environment, you can go to the Sri Ramakrishna Temple Vivekananda Math of Dakshin Purushottampur, Mandarmani branch, which is under the Barrackpore Math. The simple yet beautiful accommodation arrangements in the lush greenery here impressed us. From morning tea and biscuits to snacks, lunch, afternoon tea, tiffin, and dinner, everything is mixed with homely taste and utmost hospitality. Food is served as per the schedule. You don't have to buy drinking water like in a hotel, drinking water is available all the time. From here, there is a secluded beach at a three-four minute walk, which is a place where red crabs roam freely. From here, you can visit the Mandarmani market and beach just 3.5 km away. There are several temples on the way. If you have time, you can visit Tajpur, Shankarpur, Digha, and by renting an auto or car from the Math. The cost of staying and eating at the monastery per day is only 600 taka. You will get both non-vegetarian and non-vegetarian options for food. We went by bus, we went through Chaulkhola while going. You can also come via Kanthi station, if the monastery tells you, a car or auto will come and take you. It costs 500/- to bring five people from Kanthi station to the monastery in an auto. All in all, it was a good new experience for us to enjoy the sea in an ashram environment.
