To be technically accurate:

ChatGPT does NOT use a vector database internally.

It answers using neural network weights learned during training.

Vector Databases are used when developers build RAG systems on top of ChatGPT to give it external memory and searchable knowledge.


The examples and explanation of embeddings were correct, But the internal behavior of ChatGPT is different.
