THINKING ABOUT KARMA - A BUDDHIST REFLECTION by LE BICH SON
This song is dedicated to Professor Ram Kumar Rana, my respected PhD supervisor!
… I remember that afternoon on the campus of the University of Delhi, He told me: “Imagine kicking a ball against a wall—the ball will bounce back with a speed equivalent to the speed at which it hit the wall. Karma is the same.”
Thank you, Professor, for teaching me so many lessons in life through the simplest images!
Respectfully,
LE BICH SON, PhD

THINKING ABOUT KARMA - A BUDDHIST REFLECTION by LE BICH SON (Composed & Published on Jan 8, 2026)
Karma is not revenge.
Karma is not punishment.
Karma is cause and effect
unfolding in its own time.
Karma does not rush.
It documents everything.
And when it delivers,
it does not miss.
Karma simply means intentional action.
Every thought you nurture,
every word you speak,
every action you take
plants a seed.
Some seeds sprout quickly.
Others lie dormant for years.
But none are forgotten,
none are forgotten.
Karma does not hurry.
Karma does not forget.
Karma does not miss.
People often mistake karma
because they expect it to act
like human justice —
fast, loud, and dramatic.
But karma works quietly.
It records intentions,
patterns, and habits,
not appearances.
Some seeds sprout quickly.
Others lie dormant for years.
But none are forgotten,
none are forgotten.
Karma does not hurry.
Karma does not forget.
Karma does not miss.
A person who harms others
may seem to prosper for a while.
A person who acts with integrity
may struggle for years.
This does not mean karma failed.
It means the lesson
is still ripening.
Karma does not rush.
It documents everything.
And when it delivers,
it does not miss.
The Buddha taught that karma
is subtle and complex.
Not every result appears immediately,
not every consequence
looks like punishment.
Sometimes karma shows up
as restlessness,
broken relationships,
inner emptiness,
or repeating the same suffering
again and again.
The real weight of karma
is carried inside the mind.
You don’t need to chase justice.
You don’t need revenge.
You don’t need to prove anything.
Karma does not rush.
It documents everything.
And when it delivers,
it does not miss.
When you stay rooted
in right intention —
kindness, honesty,
restraint, compassion —
you are already free.
When someone lives
in greed, hatred, or deception,
they are already paying a price,
even if the world applauds them.
Karma does not hurry.
Karma does not forget.
Karma does not miss.
Karma does not rush.
It documents everything.
And when it delivers,
it does not miss.
So live clean.
Speak truth.
Act with care.
Not because you fear karma —
but because peace
is the highest reward.
So live clean.
Speak truth.
Act with care.
So live clean.
Speak truth.
Act with care…
