KIRBY - How to Make Invincibility Candy

What You Need:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup or glucose
1/2 cup water
2 tsp strawberry drink mix
White gel color
Canola oil, for utensils and hands
Lollipop sticks

First, grease up two silpat lined baking sheets, a small saucepan and a measuring cup. In your saucepan, place sugar, water and corn syrup. Bring to a boil.

CAREFUL WHEN COOKING WITH SUGAR. YOU CAN BURN YOURSELF BADLY. Place a candy thermometer in your boiling sugar. Cook until sugar reaches 270 degrees. Carefully pour into your greased measuring cup.

Pour half of your syrup into one of your prepared pans. Pour the rest into the other one. One half gets white gel color, the other half gets the drink mix. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes or until you can handle it in your hands.

Carefully pick up the sugar and pull the taffy until glossy and it starts to firm up. At this point, the other taffy is stiff. Place in the microwave for five seconds. Carefully mold and pull just like before.

Roll each log into long logs on a greased surface. Press together and slice into six inch pieces. Roll into circles (watch the video). Place a lollipop stick between two swirl candies.

Place on silpat sheets and allow to cool completely. Store in a dry place. Eat within a week or two.
