Humility in Leadership - The Key Trait of Great Leaders

His answer was simple.

And remembering you only get a short time on this planet, so your contribution matters.
That hit me, because design work is leadership work.
You’re leading clients through uncertainty.
You’re leading a team through trade-offs.
You’re leading a brief toward something people will live with for years.
If you want to lead like that, try this on your next project:
Say the real goal in one sentence
What are we here to achieve, without hiding behind aesthetics?
Ask one question that invites a no
What would make you not choose this option?
Make one material rule you won’t break
Office spaces often refit on roughly 5-year cycles. That is a lot of waste if materials can’t be reused.
Buildings also account for a large share of global emissions, so specs matter.
My rule lately
If it can’t last, be repaired, or be taken back, it’s not the right call.
