Here is a short chase of the UP YJY68 J Yard Switcher in Vernon, CA.
The single GP40-2, UP 1458, switches the south end of J Yard, crossing 25th Street multiple times as it builds its consist for the day's work. Once complete, the engine heads lite down the Alameda Industrial Lead to pick up two covered hoppers from Sweetener Products - one on each spur. This allows for many viewpoints of the lead, giving a comprehensive look at the industrial area the local serves. After squeezing through the tight alley on track 842, we pace the train up Alameda St on its return to J Yard. Upon arrival at the yard, we conclude this mini chase. Thanks for watching!
