Installing a J&L Oil Separator 3.0 for the driver side on my 2003 svt terminator cobra.
An oil separator is recommended for the 03 Cobra to prevent oil from entering the intake system through the PCV system, which can cause damage to the engine. Oil can seep into the intake system and lead to issues such as detonation, oil burning, and deposits on the valves.
Additionally, high-performance driving results in high pressure crankcase venting, which contains oil fumes that can dilute fuel and lower its octane.
An oil separator helps to remove these oil fumes and prevent them from entering the engine, reducing engine sludge and potential damage.
It is also noted that a good oil separator is a necessity to keep the intercooler from getting gunked up. Catch can install
