I make a Firewood Storage Rack for a Wood Burner, with an Axe Holder, and a shelf for Kindling.
I have made the firewood rack in a Hexagon shape, as I feel if the firewood rack was square, I am sure it would not have looked as good as a finished project.
In winter we use firewood in our wood burner, and I wanted a firewood rack that we did not have to hide out of the way. I wanted it to become part of the area's outdoor furniture, and maybe even a talking point with the axe holder on the top, and a shelf to have a good storage place for timber kindling and other fire-starting accessories, etc.
I found this to be a good metal welding project and I totally enjoyed making it. It was quite warm here when I was making this, lovely weather, I like it warm.
The firewood rack is about 1,500mm (59 inches) tall, and the steel used is 50mm (2 inches) square tubing.
The main tools used were a MIG welder, a 5-inch angle grinder, a 9-inch angle grinder, a bench vise, and plenty of Welding Magnets.
Always use the correct safety gear and learn to use your tools safely; I am not a good role model for this.
