Описание: The Sports Authority began in 1987 when the first store opened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Increasing in size, the company was backed financially by K-Mart in 1990 and becoming publicly traded in 1994, they soon operated over 100 stores. As the years progressed, Sports Authority grew until it began to decline in 1998 but was merged with Gart Sports in 2003. In 2006, Sports Authority was taken off of the stock exchange and became privately owned. Once having over 460 stores in 45 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and even Japan, The Sports Authority, with $1.1 billion in debt, declared bankruptcy in March, 2016 and all stores closed by the end of August of the same year. #retailrewind
