Heavily redacted medical examiner’s reports are providing some new details nearly a year after two teens were brutally murdered in a remote part of Maricopa County.
The Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner released a portion of the reports for Pandora Kjolsrud, 18, and Evan Clark, 17, who were found dead on the morning of May 27, 2025, off state Route 87 in the Mount Ord area of the Tonto National Forest.
A judge partially sealed the medical examiner’s reports, citing privacy and investigative concerns. Media organizations objected, arguing the records document how public agencies handle homicide investigations.
“People just want to know why people are dying and what the police are doing about it,” one objection noted.
The report says Kjolsrud had multiple gunshot wounds in her head and upper body, while Clark was shot multiple times in his head. Both causes of death were ruled as homicides by the office.
