In this video, I am sharing a traditional Odia Peetha recipe made with urad dal and rice, cooked slowly in pure desi ghee. This soft and delicious sweet peetha is prepared using coconut, peanuts, cashew nuts, raisins, elaichi powder, and sugar, giving it a rich traditional taste.
First, urad dal and rice are soaked for 7–8 hours, then ground into a smooth paste. The batter is left to ferment for 4–5 hours, which makes the peetha soft and fluffy. After fermentation, all the ingredients are mixed properly and cooked in a kadhai (karei) using ghee. The peetha is cooked on both sides for about 15 minutes each, and within 30 minutes, the peetha is ready to serve.
This authentic Odia peetha is perfect for festivals, puja, winter season, or family gatherings. It is a village-style traditional recipe that tastes best when served hot.
