Middle-earth: Shadow of War
This mission takes place when you first return to Cirth Ungol. There are many things you can do in Cirith Ungol upon arrival, so take the time to get the lay of the land, unlock the Haedir Towers, and get intel on some Captains who may decide to ambush you in your adventures here.

The Olog is a powerful opponent even as a lowly Grunt, because they can perform unblockable attacks, and trying to vault over them will just send you crashing back down to the ground.


Instead, you can either tap forward and dodge at the last moment to slide under the Olog and hit it from behind, or if you see the Olog attacking with a blue prompt, use your Wraith Stun to knock it senseless and follow up with several attacks. You can also score some headshots to stagger it, and Executions will deal major damage - but may not outright kill it.

After defeating the Olog, you'll be reunited with your on-again, off-again pal Gollum. Follow Gollum through enemy territory until you reach an area that triggers another cutscene with Shelob.


When you regain control, follow Gollum once again through the path to where you’ll see a group of orcs under a Morgai Fly Nest. Shoot the nest with your arrows to cause the nearby Orcs to scatter, before following Gollum again.


Inspect the dead body you see on the ground when prompted and then continue following Gollum. You’ll need to enter Wraith mode to see some footprints on the ground and follow them to find more bodies.


As you traverse the path, you may have to fight some orcs that block your way, but you can stealth kill them to quickly get by, or use the ruins to get around them (Orcs are notoriously bad at noticing you in stealth. Follow the path until you see another dead body you can inspect, then go back to where Gollum is to follow him again.

Keep following Gollum until you reach an orc patrol you must fight. There is an Olog with them, but if you have an Elven Rage on hand, you can easily dispatch the entire group, or at least place several headshots in the Olog to start the battle. Kill the orcs and move with Gollum until he stops moving.


Use your Wraith vision to see a path that leads to a wounded orc you can interrogate. Use your Wraith vision to look for and identify your target before pursuing it.


Mug the Assassin is one of the few Captains in the game who remains the same for all playthroughs. He's a pretty competent Assassin who is immune to arrow and stealth attacks - but his weakness lies in Morgai Flies. By exploiting his fear of something, you can daze him to a point where his immunities no longer work.


Bonus Objective: Exploit One of the Assassin's Fears - Make your way to the target by highlighting him in the Wraith World, and get around behind him by climbing up the ruins on the far side and taking out the archers above in stealth. From up here, you can quickly snipe the Morgai Fly nests above him to freak him out, and follow up with a stealth attack from up high.

With the Assassin dazed from his fear, he should quickly go down under repeated attacks well before any reinforcements can back him up.
