Описание: Shomari Figures (born September 3, 1985) is the U.S. Representative for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District. A member of the Democratic Party, he assumed office on January 3, 2025, following a historic election in a newly redrawn majority-Black district.

Before his election to Congress, Figures served in significant roles across all three branches of the federal government:

He most recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Counselor to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. He previously served as the White House liaison to Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

During the Obama administration, he was the Domestic Director of Presidential Personnel, where he helped implement the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
