In this video we will be discussing about the Immigration update, which includes the Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules especially in Tier 2 and, Tier 5 Visa categories released on 12th March 2020.

Today we will be talking about.

Latest changes to the Immigration Rules

The major modifications were in the European Union Settlement Scheme. We will now be mentioning a brief outline of the modifications stated as follows:

1. European Union Settlement Scheme

Indications to a no-deal Brexit have now been eliminated.
The European Union Settlement Scheme has been prolonged to those who possess a related credential originated under the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2016 as an extended family member on the basis that:
a) They are a child under the age of 18 who is dependant to a non-adoptive lawful custody order in favour of a European Economic Area National;
b) They are the family member of the spouse or civil partner of a European Economic Area National; or
c) They are a child under the age of 18 of the stable partner of a European Economic Area National.
The entitlement standards for family members of British nationals (Surinder Singh cases) must be assured before the end of transition period on 31 December 2020 and straight away before the British national and family member come back to the United Kingdom.
Leave to enter permitted by righteousness of having arrived with an entry clearance provided under Appendix EU (Family Permit) can now be annulled where there has been a material alteration in conditions since the family permit was allotted. A withdrawal verdict on those grounds can be confronted by way of Administrative Review.

A limited modifications were made to the Points Based System including Tier 2 & Tier 5, which are as follows:

1. Tier 5 (Youth Mobility Scheme)

Year 2020’s allotments and the number of places presented will be revised;
Hong Kong will be included to the list of ‘Invitations to apply arrangements’. Hong Kong assigns its places on a ballot system, but had in the past missed off the list of contributing nations.

2. Tier 2

The salary limit in the eligibility conditions for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) under Tier 2 will not rise yearly after the proposal of the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC). Thus, it will stay at £35,800 for all applications, till further communication.
Archaeology profession under SOC 2114 – Social and Humanities’ Scientists – are now in the United Kingdom - shortage occupation list.
