Don’t Be Afraid To Run - Greg Graffin (acoustic cover)

In honor of Dr. Gregory Graffin’s 57th birthday, I decided to post this cover I recorded back in August.
For those who may not know, Greg Graffin is the singer of Bad Religion. He is also obtained a PhD in zoology from Cornell University, and teaches evolution at UCLA when he’s not touring the world with his legendary punk rock band.

In 2006, he released his second solo album “Cold As The Clay” which this song is featured on. Bad Religion guitarist and the other primary song writer for the band, Brett Gurewitz, produced the record. It features other original compositions as well as Graffin’s interpretation of traditional songs. In 2017, he released his third solo effort “Millport” Graffin performed solo and with a full backing band on a tour to support the release of the album. A number of shows featured Bad Religion drummer Jamie Miller. By May of 2019, Bad Religion released their 17th studio album “Age Of Unreason” the band had to cut short their tour in support of the album due to the pandemic in 2020.

From December 2020 to January 2021, they recorded 4 shows at the Roxy in LA and released them in livestream format as DECADES. Performing songs from each decade of their career, spanning from 1980 to present day. In June 2021, the released Season 2 of DECADES. Performing all new sets of songs, some of which had never been played live. As of now, there are no plans announced for an official release of these shows. The band is currently touring North America with another wonderful punk rock band Alkaline Trio. Go buy tickets to a show!
