In this episode, we're going to take a closer look at the Toyota 1GZ-FE 5L V12 engine that will be going in the Lamborghini Countach replica / kit car, as well as discussing some power to weight ratios required to get the recreation car up to a similar performance level as a genuine one - as well as some performance improvements we can do.
Some of the engine was already dismantled before we started to film this project, so this is essentially a brief overview as to whats been done - so far:
Removed stock ECU's
Removed air intake system
Removed exhaust manifolds / heat shield
Removed other minor bits and pieces.
Project Overview:
This (replica / tribute / kit car) Lamborghini Countach will be getting a Toyota 1GZ-FE 5L V12 engine from a 1997 JDM second generation Toyota Century in the engine bay, mated to an Audi 0A2 transaxle from a European market Audi A6 from the C6 generation. The ECU we will be using is a Haltech Nexus R5. The goal for this car is to get it running before GTA VI is released in May 2026. Optimistic...I know.
Filmed on a GoPro Hero 9 and Canon EOS R at 60fps in 4k. Audio is an external microphone run through the GoPro.
