Researchers from NYU Metro Center's Policy, Research, and Evaluation (PRE) team join with parent leaders, community members, fellow researchers, along with other essential stakeholders to bring forth the Education Conversation Series. This virtual conversation series features those involved in educational justice work and highlights ways to create culturally responsive and sustaining learning environments for all students and their families.
In this episode, parent leaders Shonnie Cooley from Jackson, MS and Tina Carney from Rochester, NY discuss the importance of authentic family engagement. They share practices on building relationships between educators and families and the outcomes it can play on student learning and development.
