The Tohyama Shimotsuki Matsuri festival (遠山の霜月祭り) takes place every year in mid-December at various shrines on different days around the Tohyama-go area of the Southern Alps in Nagano, Japan. It's been continuing for over 800 years.
This particular video shows just some of the rituals at the Hodono Shohachimangu shrine. The whole festival at this shrine lasted from 11 o'clock in the morning to about 7:30 the following morning.
