Today we discover a prophetic aspect of this book, pointing to the first and second comings of our Lord and Savior. Like the shepherd lover, the Lord came as a Shepherd and Servant, not recognized by His Chosen people. Following many types and shadows of the pre-tribulation rapture, He will be coming a second time as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and will hear His people say “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
