Power to the People - Britain’s first nuclear reactor for a generation is installed
In the project’s biggest milestone yet, the first nuclear reactor for a generation has been installed at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. At just 13m long the first of two “reactor pressure vessels” will provide power to generate enough electricity for 3m homes. The power station’s two units will provide Britain enough reliable low carbon electricity to meet 7% of national demand.
