Here’s one of my favorite combos for rear loaders that Groot runs, complete with a set of Dayton’s as well! While these haven’t aged well cosmetically, they still run like champs and I’m sure they won't be going anywhere anytime soon. If you look closely, you can see that these used to be retrofitted with the original Quik-Tips. Those were taken off because the cart tipper was integrated with the kickbar, meaning that to tip carts you had to cycle the kickbar which made these far less efficient for residential routes and ultimately all but one of these LE Leach’s had the Quik Tips removed. I haven’t prioritized filming one of these because these days they usually do light yard waste routes which in my opinion would not make for as good of a video. However, there were a bunch of trucks down right around Christmas last year and even after bringing in rentals, they still didn’t have enough trucks so this was pulled from the back of the yard and put on the scattered multi-family home route. He started off on trash and then came back for recycling, which was how I found him coming back from the dump on the highway. The first section I recorded him in was two backdowns with tubbed recycling, so you can expect a second installment featuring that footage. Then he went over to the section you see in this video, with some carted recycling. There was some extras at a few stops which was pretty cool too, and overall I’m really glad I finally got to record one of these. I hope you all enjoy the video!
