Homkund the last point (Padao) of Raaj Jaat Yatra which organized once in 12 years with a four horned sheep (called Chausingya-Meda in Garhwali).
Whe. Maa Nanda Devi in got married to Lord Shiva and as per tradition, had to move her husband's home, Homekund then Kailash.🏔️So, the people of Uttarakhand, as a tradition they take Maa Nanda Devi to Homkund once in every 12 years.
After the Havan-Yagna is done, the sheep is freed with decorated ornaments, food and clothing, and other offerings and it is believed that sheep goes to Kailash 🏔️ from Himalayas ⛰️
This temple dedicated to lord Shiva and Maa Nanda Devi Ji was built by the people of Sutol village in 2018 all the village people gathered and made this beautiful high altitude temple ⛰️❤️
