Marine Multi-species micro fishing using Tanago hooks.

Описание: Got skunked the same morning when I went UL fishing at the same spot. I noticed there were lots of micro species so I decided to go back to do a bit of micro fishing. There were more species this time compared to the last couple of times I micro fished there. I could have caught at least 3 more species had I used some other bait like worms or hotdogs.

This was just a test to compare the Owner Tanago "smallest" and the Gamakatsu "ultimate" hooks. The Gamakatsu is definitely smaller in hook point. And I was having trouble setting the hook. For sure if the fish were 1 inch or smaller, it would probably be easier to set. But for bigger species, less than a millimeter of a hook point will not do. The Owner "smallest" was better. I was able to hook 3 to 4 inch fish. I might try the Gamakatsu "smallest" in the future. It as a longer hook point than the Owner "smallest" but it might just be better to use at that same spot considering the average size of the fish there are around 2 to 3 inches, not including the bigger species of course.

The Musashi Umi tanago hooks are a bit too big for small fish below 2 inches but are pretty good for 3-4 inch fish. For the smaller fish, the chances of hooking one is not as frequent as the Owner and Gamakatsu, since the smaller fish that can't swallow the hooks tend to just nibble around the bait whereas with the smaller hooks they are most likely to gobble the bait provided they are small enough to fit in their mouths.

It was a fun session for me. I still don't have a photo tank though. I will officially start life listing once I have one. Since Identifying fish will require some good photos. For now, I will just try out more stuff from different baits to hook sizes and different rigs.
