Farm Fires: Pollution Board has written to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the ongoing issue of poor air quality. However, this matter has turned into a political war. The CPCB in the letter has mentioned that there are 13 active pollution hotspots. AAP has stated that 45% contribution in Delhi Pollution is due to neighbouring state's stubble burning. Environment Minister Gopal Rai has said that they have asked 6 construction sites to be stopped.
Punjab farm fires are at a 5 year high.150-200 farm fires have been reported in the first week of October. The pollution in the National Capital has mounted with a sharp drop in air quality index.
