"On our third to last day at IES Tokyo, we decided to eat kaiten sushi for lunch, at one of my favorite places--Sushiro!
Kaiten sushi, known as conveyor belt sushi, is a staple for locals and tourists everywhere for cheap sushi, and if you choose your place right, pretty good sushi for its price. They also exist in various countries, and as far as I know America also has Sushiro (as well as other conveyor belt sushi restaurants), though there are less of them. Also choose wisely! Some kaiten sushi are much better than others, and just because it's more expensive per plate doesn't mean it's better.
After a rather surprising experience with two tourists who sat next to me and a friend at another kaiten sushi restaurant, one of who grabbed a cup and offered his lovely wife tea by simply looking at the cup questionably, looking at the faucet, fiddling with said faucet, and then finally realizing he had to push it to get liquid out, and THEN drinking it and saying it was "great tea, though a little weak," I thought maybe it would be cool to put out a video about eating kaiten sushi! For starters, he was drinking hot water.
Of course, most people know what they're doing in kaiten sushi, but just for kicks! I forgot to mention that if your utensils, cups, and wet towels are not on your table, they're likely above you or below you, as this gets me sometimes. Forgive me for being tired, I had been filled with social obligation to meet everyone before I left! Enjoy sushi!"
