Houses Atreides and Harkonnen have set aside their feud to unite against a common threat. The Imperial House Corrino has joined them. The game was rigged from the start, but Emperor Frederick IV has greatly underestimated the cunning of House Ordos. They shall pay for their treachery.

Little birds have sang of a great threat. Both the Corrino Sardaukar and Harkonnen forces posses Death Hand ballistic missiles. This standoff capability must be neutralized for Ordos to have any chance. A strictly defensive posture is not an option under such a destructive long range threat.

No new assets are available for Ordos in this mission. However Ordos merchants are buying, begging and stealing all the Rocket Launchers they can from the market, but they are unfortunately short in supply. Deviators can be used to "loan" firepower from the enemy and force a quick attack to key enemy buildings. Enemy Palaces control the Death Hand missile batteries and have placed on high priority target list along with Construction Yards.

This was a relaxed playthrough that brought nostalgic vibes and a lot of good memories. Hopefully someone else out there felt the same way. If someone wants to see Atreides or Harkonnen, then hit it up in the comments.

Dune 2 was and still is an amazing game. The atmosphere is phenomenal and the gameplay is addicting. In retrospect some of the houses could have had more variability in playstyles - for example Ordos might have relied more on the Starport, as they are not known to produce their own hardware.

Changes would have added more complexity and balancing issues. Additional assets would have required valuable disk space. Sometimes it is best to keep things clear and simple. I feel that Total War: Shogun 2 is a great game because of it's fairly limited strategical map and similar army compositions between the factions.
