PM Modi Announces Uranium Supply Deal with Australia

The two leaders held one-on-one talks followed by delegation-level discussions and reviewed six years of the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The leaders discussed expanding cooperation in trade and investment, defence and security, critical minerals, cyber and emerging technologies, space, civil nuclear energy, clean energy, education, and people-to-people ties.

PM Modi emphasized India's strengths in democracy, technology, and innovation, calling India a major global catalyst for future growth. He urged faster progress on the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) and the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA).

A major highlight of the summit was the announcement of a nuclear energy agreement that will facilitate uranium supplies from Australia to India, strengthening India's clean energy goals. The leaders also launched the Australia-India Partnership on Cyber, Critical Technologies and Supply Chains (AI-PACT) and announced plans to develop a Critical Minerals Corridor.
