Privilege Notice Issued to Cuttack Collector | 7 Rajya Sabha MPs Raise Complaint

A privilege notice has been issued against Cuttack District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde following a complaint raised by seven Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament.

The issue arose after MPs alleged that they were not invited to an official government function held on January 23 during Netaji Jayanti celebrations at Netaji Birthplace Museum in Cuttack. The Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha had attended the event, which included multiple inaugurations and foundation stone ceremonies.

Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantaray, a resident of Cuttack, claimed he was neither invited nor was his name mentioned on the plaque. Calling it an indirect insult to the Rajya Sabha and its Chairman, the matter was raised in Parliament.

Following the complaint submitted on February 5, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat forwarded the notice on February 11 through the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions for necessary action as per rules.
