The Bison Hollow Nature Preserve is one of the last untouched parcels of wilderness to remain untouched in the Hockings Region. Comprised of 177 acres, this newly protected nature preserve is part of the 8 conservation properties of Hocking Hills that also includes Fought Preserve, Carpenter Hollow, Grupenhof, Ramblewood CE, Harper, Bowmore, and the House Preserve. Named after the last herd of wild woodland bison that are believed to have roamed this canyon, the area is also adorned with countless waterfalls, rock shelters, and wildflower covered stream banks. This totally primitive nature preserve is slowly becoming a favorite place for explorers to enjoy a day full of horse back riding, canoeing, and back country hiking. While it's not an easy place to find, those that manage to locate this hidden gem will be in for an unforgettable experience.
