On this trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, we discovered a little-known neighborhood ,called Cinco De Diciembre, that quickly became our favorite area in the city.

This video tours you through a truly local side of Puerto Vallarta — a neighborhood with cobbled streets, taco stands, traditional restaurants, local bars, a municipal market, and a relaxed beach vibe at Playa Camarones.

We stayed in a traditional Mexican house Airbnb, on a real local street, and experienced everyday life away from the crowded resort and hotel zones. This area feels authentic, walkable, and welcoming — and it’s just starting to becoming more popular with visitors.

If you’re planning a trip to PV and want a place that’s local, affordable, close to the beach, and full of character, this neighborhood is absolutely worth considering.
