Ted Miguel facilitates a panel discussion on recent calls to lower statistical significance thresholds (alpha levels). Eric-Jan Wagenmakers and Simine Vazire represent proponents of redefining statistical significance to p less than 0.005 (rather than p less than 0.05), while Daniel Lakens represent opponents who believe researchers should just "transparently report and justify all choices they make when designing a study, including the alpha level."
