Greetings. Recently I bought an old Omega De Ville from the 1960s. The damaged dial tells its age. The Caliber 565 movement still looks brilliant, just a bit dirty. I'll dismantle, clean, and lubricate the movement.
The Omega 565 would be the most respected vintage movement in Omega's history. Spec-wise, it's outdated, 19,800 vph, an old-style quickset date, and no "hack" feature for setting the time. Quality and reliability-wise, it is still above the standard mechanical movement nowadays. It's not cheap, but it will be a good choice for your first vintage watch.
